IFD and light steel frame floor systems
In addition to renovations and alterations, LEWIS® Dovetailed sheeting is often applied in new building projects as well. Particularly in IFD floor systems (Industrial, Flexible & Demountable) and light steel frame floor systems.
SLIMLINE floor system
The SLIMLINE floor system has been developed by Prefab Limburg B.V. The prefab system consists of a concrete slab with upwards-projecting steel girders. The IPE girders, which have been provided with notches, have been casted into the concrete slab. The concrete slab forms the ceiling of the underlying room. Conduits for sewage, water, heating/cooling, gas, electricity, ICT, air treatment, etc. are inserted into the ceiling cavity of the SLIMLINE floor system. Using LEWIS® Dovetailed sheeting, the (floating) top floor is made on top of the SLIMLINE.
Light steel frame floor systems
Light steel frame building can be seen as a contemporary variant to timber frame construction and prefab concrete.
Steel frame floor systems consist of frames of cold-shaped C- U-profiles made of thin steel sheet. The frames are strong
and lightweight. LEWIS® Dovetailed sheeting is fixed onto the frames, and finished with a fine gravel concrete or liquid screed
floor. This way, a high-quality constructional floor is made.
Besides as a floor system in steel framed houses and commercial buildings the LEWIS® light steel frame floor systems are
for example also used as a light weight solution for topping up existing houses/apartment buildings,.
WING floor system
The WING floor system has been developed by Betonson. The system consists of an integrated pre-tensioned concrete lower deck and a constructional upper deck. The upper deck is provided with integrated gutters, through which conduits can be led. Think for example of conduits for climate control, ICT, ventilation, gas, electricity and water. With LEWIS® Dovetailed sheeting, the gutters are constructionally laid closed. The WING floor with LEWIS® Dovetailed sheeting can be finished with a pressure layer of C20/25 concrete or a (floating) liquid screed floor.
